I saw that dress in an issue of The Knot and it was love at first sight. When I looked up the designer Jenny Yoo I found that I liked several of her dresses and her overall style. But that was the one, I just knew it. Desperate to try it on, I made an appointment at Bella Bridesmaid because it was the only shop in my area that carries Jenny Yoo.

I have been delinquent in all things blog this summer and for that I apologize. But it’s not my fault. The letter E has taken over my life. I’m not kidding…
- Raven, the kitchenaid and I evacuated my apartment, bringing all of the craft supplies with us. Yep, we moved out.
- There have also been many excursions. See, I found the very best seafood risotto in the world at a restaurant called Sarafina’s in a little mountain town… And then Dan and I bought a vacation house in the same little mountain town. Coincidence? I think not.

I started reading The Lightning Thief
last week, and now I am a little obsessed. Okay, maybe a lot obsessed. I’ve already blown through the first 2 Percy Jackson books and am halfway through the third book. At this rate I will be done with the entire series by Friday. Or maybe tomorrow. (should I be embarrassed that I’m addicted to kids’ fantasy books?)
I have trouble putting books down sometimes even though I know I have other things to do. You know, things like laundry, eating, and sharing recipes with you. So while I finish reading The Titan’s Curse
, you should check out the perfect roast chicken. I posted it about a year ago and it is an all-time favorite of mine. When did my blog get old enough that I can pull things “from the archives”? Crazy.
And don’t forget the best part about making roast chicken: having chicken salad the next day.

Did you know that May is National BBQ Month? How did no one tell me sooner? I just found out a couple of days ago and at first I was devastated. Me. Lover of all things barbecued. Has missed half of the month devoted to said love.
Then I remembered: May is just the beginning of BBQ season. No matter what the Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue Association says. Why do we need to be limited to just a month?
