weekend recap

As I sit here, it is almost 10:30pm Sunday night and I feel a warm fuzzy looking back on this weekend. It was full of friends and loved ones and time in the kitchen. It all started when I baked a cake

And I squeezed a few lemons.

I made a little moat with 7-minute-frosting and filled it lemon curd.

Then I put it all together into a mini-wedding cake for some good friends. Oh, and there was champagne.

The next morning Raven and I watched The Dukes of Hazzard on the cushy sofa. And I had a holey egg sandwich for breakfast.

On Mother’s Day, we spent some time with friends in the afternoon. And it all ended with homemade pizzas with the boys. A busy but fun weekend. And now it’s time for bed.

How was your weekend?

I con-curd! It was sooo good. I love the lemonyness and the texture of the frosting was perfect!

Thank you so much for making us the beautiful wedding cake. You put so much thought into it and my heart just glows everytime I think of it. We are going to pin up the cutout picture in the kitchen next to our ” Hong” sign. And yes, the lemon custard was amazing!!!

Your lemon curd looks divine! I love lemon curd but my husband doesn’t like it, so I hardly ever make it – I usually end up eating it all and that’s not good…

Thanks Cristina! I made the lemon curd specifically for the cake and was surprised by how much I had leftover. As much as I love it, I was hoping it would be all gone because I will eat it all and like you said, that’s not good :)
