I’ve decided to do a weekly roundup of random things that catch my eye and don’t make it into another post before Saturday. So here goes…
Culinate and Mark Bittman combined forces to bring us the How to Cook Everything iPhone App! It is currently available at an introductory rate of $1.99 in the app store. And contains all 2,000 recipes from the book. A great cookbook at your fingertips for 2 bucks. Sweet.
I want these plant markers not just because they are pretty but because having these in my potted herbs might shame me into taking better care of them. Maybe.
- Lordy be… Mint Julep Ice Cream on Simply Recipes from Garrett McCord of Vanilla Garlic.
- A nice piece on gradually switching from chemicals to natural cleaners from Crazy Aunt Purl. I’ve been gradually switching myself but occasionally backslide so it’s nice to read someone else’s experience.
Finally, there is Jamie Oliver. I like that guy. I watched the finale for his Food Revolution this week and I signed his petition. He’s working to improve school lunches in the US like he did in the UK. If you’d like to see more real food and less processed being served to kids in public schools, check out his petition.
That’s it for now. Hope you are having a great weekend!
