Comments on: chewy chocolate gingerbread cookies

I just tried making these for the first time for a trial run for our annual cookie exchange party…they are a bit time consuming but sooooo incredible! Mine do not flatten out thin like the picture though…. what do you think I’m doing wrong? I want them thin like yours and I followed the recipe exactly. ??? help.
