As I mentioned last week, I have a couple more surprises for you. It’s taken me longer to get it all together and into a post than I expected, but nonetheless, here we go…
The last couple of weeks, there have been a lot of cookies coming out of my kitchen. A few years ago, I couldn’t have handled anything like this because I didn’t have the right tools. Sure, I had already discovered parchment paper and a little plastic cookie scoop made by Wilton, which made cookie-making easier but I didn’t like using all of that paper and the scoop was a little flimsy. But then last Christmas, thanks to my generous Santa, I discovered the beauty of baking with a heavy duty cookie sheet and silpat liner. And I replaced the fragile plastic scoop with a nice metal one from Good Grips. Now I’m a cookie making machine.
And you can be too…
My Cookie Essentials giveaway
- Who? You!… Two of you to be exact.
- What? Each of the winners will receive 3 of my cookie essentials (pictured above… you won’t get the exact ones in the picture though. Those are mine and aren’t going anywhere…) –
- One Chicago Metallic 13×18-inch cookie/jelly roll pan
- One 11 5/8 x 16 1/2 inch Silpat nonstick silicone baking mat that fits the pan perfectly
- And One Oxo Good Grips medium cookie scoop (scoops about 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough)
- When? Entry is open through Tuesday morning (December 15, 2009, 8am PST to be exact) closed.
- Where? Right here, silly.
- Why? Because I like you.
- How? Leave a comment on this post telling me what is at the top of your wish list? aka “What do you want for Christmas?” It can be real or fantasy. Unfortunately, I can’t pull any strings with Santa, but I’d still like to know (it’s fun to dream a little, right?). Then on Tuesday, Dec 15, I’ll use the random number generator to select 2 winners.
Note: as with the truffles, my disclaimer is that these aren’t things that I received as an incentive but are things I use regularly and wanted to share with you, my readers. By the way, you can find all of these items on Amazon.
Good luck!
Updated December 15, 2009:

For years the kids have always had “help” picking out my gifts. I would love it if this year they would choose my gifts on their own. All 3 of them are old enough and I would love to see what surprises would be waiting for me under the tree. For my birthday one year, my son, who was 9 at the time, got me a pizza pan, he is my biggest fan in the kitchen.
a new snowboard :]
This year, I would like my brother and his family to show up at a reasonable hour so I can make it to the movies and see “Sherlock Holmes.” Seriously. I would donate all my gifts to charity just to have this happen.
I would like a dSLR for xmas!
books! books! books! cookbooks to be specific…..and baking cookbooks to be more specific
I enjoy searching through the ‘reduced price’ books, but also love the new first editions
Merry Christmas!!!
thanks for the give away!
top of my Christmas wish list is for my boyfriend and i to make it home to WI to celebrate the holidays with our families who we haven’t seen in a year.
cheers and best for the holiday season to you and yours,
*heather*
It’s that time. I want MCAT study guides!
I want a remodeled kitchen .. probably am not going to get that though considering I rent. So, in lieu of that, Martha Stewart’s Cookies Book.
I’d definitely love to get a Kitchenaid stand mixer or a fancy camera, but I’ll also settle for some baking cookbooks and new bakeware too :]
Dec. 15 is my birthday so maybe that will give me extra luck? lol
Some cute, comfy boots and a warm peacoat! It’s in the 30-40s in the Bay Area… What the heck?? This SoCal girl cannot handle it!
I would enjoy a new digital camera, but I am just happy that my children will be home for Christmas…that is THE best gift of all…
Ooh, top of my list? I’d like to go on a no-financial-stress (aka, all expenses paid by someone else) trip to Europe with my husband!
But I’ll settle for an awesome cookie scoop, instead. :)
I would like to be graduated from college finally! :)
They really are money suckers, I’m tellin ya!
For christmas, I’d just like my poor husband to have the time to fix up some of the things around here needing attention.
I would love undisturbed quality time with my husband and children, but that cookie scoop sure looks good, too. ; )
I have all sorts of baking items on my list this year (including new baking sheets). But, honestly, a couple of weeks off of work and some time to spend with my family is all I really want for Christmas.
The perfect Christmas present would to be to be able to spend quality time with all my family. So often everything seems rushed and worried – I’m hoping we can all relax a little this year and just enjoy being together.
All I want for Christmas is a decent cookbook holder. I am a messy baker and my cookbooks are living proof LOL!
I would love more time! I work 2 jobs and that would help and knowing it’s not going to happen or the next one….a gas stove, or a kitchen island or. Well you get the picture.
I’m asking for 3 cakes stands (one large, med., and small) love that look.
Dream present – KitchenAid Professional mixer so I could double cookie recipes without worrying about the noise my little one makes. A new cookie scoop would help, too!
I really want a Bose stereo to play my iPod on! :)
I would love to be able to take more time off to spend time with my family during the holidays and to bake SO MANY treats :) I have a cooking wishlist going on at the moment, and at the top might be some new attachments for my beloved KitchenAid mixer!
My “fantasy” gift I’d like is any Canon L-series lenses. In reality, I would like some perfume.
I want the Holy Grail of baking (IMHO) the KitchenAid ,5-qt, bowl-lift stand mixer…I have been asking for it for years, and methinks Santa might have it in his sleigh this year. Judging by the cool, calm exterior of Santa and lack of obvious holiday shopping trips, he’s got something up his sleeve. Here’s hoping!!
I didn’t really ask for much for Christmas this year because I will be getting married about 7 months later, so my parents are paying for the wedding and I feel bad asking for more. I am hoping to get all kinds of fantastic kitchen supplies (namely a KitchenAid bowl-lift stand mixer…same as Cindy) from our registry for wedding gifts!
I’d like decent weather so all my family can travel safely. Gotta love New England winters…
I would love to have a tripod or any number of kitchen type things (actually a silicone mat is on my list!)
great giveaway! :)
Actually, I’d like a digital camera. I’m a little behind on the technology, and have yet to get one. My husband and I go on trips, people ask for the pictures and we never have any to show (because we don’t have a camera). :)
Truly, I just want to be at my parents’ house with my family and my sisters and their families. Laughing, eating, playing…. Love that!
I really want a silpat!!!! And a baking mat… and a DSLR but I can’t convince my husband of that one yet…
For this Christmas I want Williams-Sonoma Nonstick Goldtouch 6-piece Bakeware Set, a Chicago Metallic 4 Cup Tartlet Pan and really anything else for the kitchen. I’m moving out of my parent’s house next year so I’m basically starting from scratch and trying to stock my ultimate kitchen!
It’s funny, I don’t have a big wish list this year. I’d like a new recipe box…mine is an old plastic 3×5 index card holder that is exploding and has 4×6 cards stuck in the back.
Fantasy wish: For someone else to get the house cleaned and decorated for Christmas so my husband and I could play instead!
Realistic wish: An evening out with my husband – that is always a treat!
How about you, P?
This year I want a healthy baby girl. If Santa could throw in an easy delivery too I wouldn’t complain!
Would love to get a chinois to add to my batterie de cusinine!
A Keurig single serve coffee maker!
A shelter dog
All I want for Christmas is a tea pot as I broke mine this week. I actually asked for 3 because I do seem to wear them out.
I know it’s completely ridiculous, because I should be capable of finding and purchasing one for myself, but the number one thing that I want is an old-fashioned crank-style sifter. For some reason, all I can find are those new-fangled ones where you squeeze it with one hand to sift. Nice idea, but they’re so much harder to use. I only asked for three things, and they all have to do with baking! I think I have a problem–lol.
Got my gift already – got married on 12/7! – so I guess I’m just wishing for a memorable first Christmas together. :-)
Mini Cheesecake pan & tapered french rolling pin.
(And a new silpat- mine was somehow destroyed by a 3 year old!)
gps so i don’t get lost anymore
I would be very happy to know, everyone prayed for the women and men, fighting in war or service, and their families, everyday!!! They are the reason,we live free,go to the store, where we want to go,and lay down in a peaceful bed tonight.I thank,God freedom, and salvation!!
My husband gave me an unexpected early Christmas present recently…a MacBook Pro! He gave it to me early so that I can start getting accustomed to switching over from a PC. Wow…I do love my new toy!
what a great giveaway–thanks for the chance to win!
the top of my dream list is a food processor, but the top of my more reasonable list is an abelskiver pan. :)
I want to have my house finished for Christmas. We are in the middle of a remodel, and I’m so tired of seeing sheet rock & insulation. Seriously Santa, I’ve been really good this year, lol.
If I could have anything for Christmas, I wish I could get one of those backwards time winding things, like from Harry Potter. But for now, I’d settle for a real Christmas tree. :]
Honestly, I don’t quite know what I want for Christmas… I guess my biggest wish (for myself) is that my postdoc reasearch produces papers soon and that I’m able to get the teaching experience I need for my dream job. A lot to ask, I know!!
I really want a silpat and would love to have an extra cookie scoop! Thanks for the opportunity.
I really want a trip around the world!
My biggest wish for this year is to find a new career and be able to quit teaching. I don’t like it anymore, and life’s too short to have a job you hate! I’m really worried about leaving that stable career path, though. You did it – any advice?
To go to Hogwarts! World peace! For everyone to have a nice warm Christmas. :)
Or an ipod battery or a cool peruvian hat. :D
If I could have anything, I’d love to have a trip to Greece, but spending Christmas with my family will be really nice :)
Great giveaway!
What I really would like very much this year is a spiralizer. It would be so much fun to make “pasta” out of zucchini!
That or the weather to warm up. -40 is totally NOT cool. Brrr.
What I’ve been wanting for awhile is a good quality ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet maker after reading a book full of recipes. Unfortunately, there’s not much room for one right now….
New lights for my loft are at the top of my wish list. It is just so darn dark in here, I am getting the winter blues!
I want…
to loose 15 pounds.
seriously. I do.
But until that happens I’ll continue to look at food blogs and eat lots and lost of food.
oh well
Real: double bass strings
Fantasy: Robert Pattinson ;)
A full day at the spa enjoying a massage, pedicure, and more!
ooh my wish was for the diana f+ camera and my wonderful boyfriend got it for me! wish come true!!!
it would be so lovely to win this!
Such a nice giveaway! I’d love to be in Paris for Christmas!
For Christmas this year I would like a trip to France, Nice, specifically, to shop in the wonderful open air market in the Old Town.
wow this is so cool! one of my friends from my fraternity sent this link to me, and ohhhh man those cookies look good!! for christmas this year, I just want my brothers and parents to want to do fun stuff and go out together! These past few years, Christmas has been pretty boring stay at home, involving a lot of computer/tv watching. This year, I hope we can go out somewhere nice to eat, or go on an all day trip somewhere!
oh and i’m also running low on socks.
On Christmas morning, I’d love to peek into my stocking and see a note from Santa stating that 2010 will rock. This year totally sucked for me. Here’s to hoping for a better decade to come!
A breadmaker!
