We are now officially into the heart of the Holiday Season and you know what that means, right? Cookies. And presents. But mostly cookies. Last year I made caramels and tried to make some other candies but this year, I am going to stick to what I know: baking — not to be confused with bacon, though I know a little bit about that too.
For the last two years, I’ve subscribed to the 12 Days of Cookies from Food Network, and I’ve made maybe one of the recipes. I still like getting the emails though mostly because I like to see the pretty cookies dressed up for the holidays. But I always have my list of go-to favorites and a few other things that have caught my eye already so the 12 cookies from the Food Network just don’t make my short list.
So this year I’ve decided to do something a little different. I’m going to do my own 12 Days of Cookies right here. Starting tomorrow. I’ll be making some of my holiday favorites and a few new ones I’ve seen in cookbooks and magazines that are on my “to do” list. In a lot of ways, I think this means I’m crazy. I mean, I am just finishing up nablopomo and I am ready for a break. Then again, I’m going to be baking for the holidays anyway, so why not go in with a plan? Besides, cookies wait for no man.
Anyway, expect the first cookie tomorow… and a surprise.
